Service of Healing Led by Mindy Eilender

Wednesday, July 22, 2020 1 Av 5780

7:00 PM - 8:00 PMZoom

We may be isolated, but we are not alone! Let’s join together for a virtual service in which we pray not only for individual healing and comfort, but for those we love, for the many people who are working so hard to keep us safe and well, and for so many who are struggling and in need of our prayers. Let’s lift one another up! “See” you on Zoom!

Mindy Eilender Bio:

Mindy Eilender, a new member of Temple Beth Am, currently serves on the Social Action Committee. Mindy has a broad background in both education and social services. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in education, and Masters degrees in both Jewish Studies and Marriage and Family Therapy. Mindy was privileged to establish Joshua’s Path, a department at the Goodman Jewish Family Services. She counseled, guided, and assisted families in obtaining services and funding for disabled family members, as well as serving as a resource for the wider community of Broward County. Prior to that, she worked for many years with the geriatric population at the Daniel Cantor Senior Center. There, she provided social services, taught classes, and facilitated support groups. Her earlier career was in the field of Jewish education, serving as a teacher of children through adults in a variety of settings. She was also the Director of Education of a Torah school which became a model school within the synagogue’s denomination, and a start-up director of the then newly established Family Education department at the Central Agency for Jewish Education. In this position, she trained teachers, and created a network of cooperating schools which implemented family education programs throughout the community. Mindy has made community service a priority, having served on the board of ARC Broward, the Family Care Council for Developmental Disabilities, and the Task Force for the Jewish Disabled for Jewish Federation, an investigatory commission established to assess needs and make proposals for programs for the Jewish disabled. She is proud that so many of these early seeds which were planted have grown into the full-service programs of today. She is honored to reach out to the Temple Beth Am family through a Zoom healing prayer service, as a way of connecting and supporting one another in difficult times.
