Happy Independence Day!

In honor of Independence Day, the Men's Club is hosting a Hamilton Viewing event with special guest speaker, Prof. Robert Watson, Distinguished history professor at Lynn University.

Prof. Watson will be speaking about the backstory to the main numbers in the musical, will offer a fun fact-check of the musical, and will spend time discussing Hamilton's Jewish roots and lifelong commitment to the Jewish community in NYC and Philadelphia.

About Hamilton: The Musical
The musical, by composer, playwright, performer and producer Lin-Manuel Miranda, won 11 Tony awards in 2016 as well as the 2016 Pulitzer Prize in Drama. It's hailed as a creative modern retelling of Alexander Hamilton's journey to becoming a founding father of the US. 

Hamilton is being broadcast on the new Disney+ streaming service, starting on Friday, July 3. To watch the show, register for a new Disney+ account or login into your existing subscription and watch the movie before Watson speaks on Sunday, July 5 at 3:00pm.

The duration of the show is about 3 hours.

Disney+ costs $6.99/mo. Please note that watching Hamilton is optional and you may attend the Watson talk without watching it.

After you've seen the show on Disney+, attend the Zoom meeting on Sunday, July 5 at 3:00 PM to hear Prof. Watson speak. The Zoom meeting link will be sent to you through email after signing up for the event.
